Carpets Protection Film

1. Prevent stains and liquid penetration: Block liquid and solid contaminants such as paint, coating, glue, oil stains, beverages, mud and dust from penetrating into carpet fibers.

2. Prevent scratches and abrasions: Protect the carpet surface from physical wear and scratches caused by heavy equipment, tools, furniture casters and frequent pedestrian traffic.

3. Prevent dust and debris: Effectively block a large amount of dust, debris, wood chips, gypsum, etc. generated during construction or decoration from falling into the carpet.

4. Facilitate cleaning: After the event, you only need to remove the protective film, and the carpet underneath can remain relatively clean, which greatly reduces the difficulty and time of cleaning.

5. Economical and efficient: Compared with the expensive cleaning, repair or replacement costs after the carpet is damaged, using a protective film is a low-cost preventive measure.

6. Improve safety (some types): Some protective films have anti-slip textures on the surface, which can reduce the risk of slipping. Transparent films also allow floor warning signs, etc. to remain visible.

1. Plastic film category

Polyethylene film: The most common and economical choice. It is usually thin (such as 1.5mil, 3mil, 6mil thickness) and comes in transparent or blue colors. Its advantages are low cost, light weight, easy to lay and remove. The disadvantages are poor slip resistance (smooth surface), not resistant to puncture by sharp objects, and may wrinkle or shift after long-term stepping. It is suitable for light protection, short-term projects or dust prevention.

Reinforced/enhanced film: Fibers or grids are embedded in the polyethylene film for reinforcement. It significantly improves tear resistance and puncture resistance, is more durable, and is suitable for medium protection needs and medium-sized projects.

Adhesive film: One side is equipped with a removable low-viscosity adhesive, which can be better fixed on the carpet and is not easy to slide or curl. It is especially suitable for slopes, stairs or long-term projects that require a high level of anti-slip protection. Be careful when removing to ensure that no adhesive remains.

2. Non-woven fabric category

Spunbond polypropylene: It looks like thick cloth, usually white or blue. It is thicker, more wear-resistant and has better water absorption (can absorb a small amount of spilled liquid) than plastic film, and also has better slip resistance (with texture on the surface). It provides better walking comfort and protection level, and is suitable for projects with medium to heavy pedestrian flow, requiring better slip resistance or longer construction period (such as exhibitions, events, moving). The price is usually higher than ordinary plastic film.

3. Composite material category

Film + non-woven fabric composite: Combines the impermeability of plastic film with the wear resistance, moisture absorption and slip resistance of non-woven fabric. It provides the highest level of protection, is very durable, and is suitable for heavy construction (such as hardwood floor installation, large-scale decoration), heavy equipment movement or occasions requiring the highest protection for a long time. The cost is the highest.
