Plastic Films For Protecting Tile

Stabilize the Wax Layer: Polished tiles are waxed before leaving the factory to prevent oxidation. The plastic film can prevent the wax layer from overflowing and oxidizing prematurely.

Isolate and Prevent Scratching: During transportation and stacking, with the packaging method of the tiles' "faces and backs facing each other", the film can reduce the direct friction between the tiles.

Provide Temporary Protection: It offers short-term transportation protection for special glazed tiles (such as microcrystalline stone), but the actual anti-scratching effect is limited.

Recommended Materials:

PVC knitted cotton + EVA foam layer: It has the best buffering and impact resistance effect, and the thickness should be ≥ 2mm;

Polyethylene film: It is resistant to acids and alkalis, easy to clean, and an anti-slip function can be added;

Avoid the pearl cotton material, as it has poor anti-slip performance and is prone to sliding.

Key Points of Construction:

Thoroughly clean the ground before paving, and fix it with cloth-based tape (leaving no adhesive marks);

Overlap the joints by 5cm, and leave a 1cm gap against the wall;

Lay the floor film after pasting the tiles on the wall to avoid the residue of glue.

If the original factory film is not removed in a timely manner during the construction process, the following handling methods can be referred to:

Softening by Heating: Use a hair dryer to heat the film or soak the tiles in hot water. Take advantage of the difference in the expansion coefficients between the plastic and the glazed surface to separate them.

Chemical Treatment: For stubborn residues, they can be wiped with asphalt removers, industrial alcohol, or oxalic acid solutions.
