Core Features
1. Low or medium-low tack: This is the most critical feature. Marble surfaces (especially polished and crystal surfaces) are highly dense yet delicate-high-tack adhesives may leave residue after long-term application or even damage the surface gloss. The specially formulated film uses pressure-sensitive adhesive, which provides sufficient adhesion for secure fixation while leaving zero residue upon removal.
2. Excellent ductility and toughness: Made of soft polyethylene (PE), the film can tightly conform to the curved surfaces and edges of marble countertops without tearing easily.
3. Scratch resistance: With a certain thickness and rigidity, the film acts as a barrier against scratches caused by hard objects such as tools and gravel.
4. Stain and water resistance: During construction, it prevents contaminants like paint, cement and adhesive from penetrating the stone's pores, and allows for easy cleaning.
5. High transparency: It facilitates surface inspection during the protection period without obscuring the marble's attractive natural veining.
Main Types and Parameter Selection
1. Tack Classification (Most Critical)
Low Tack: Suitable for high-gloss, mirror-finish, black diamond and other high-end polished marble surfaces. Recommended application duration is no more than 3 months.
Medium-Low Tack: The most commonly used type, applicable to most polished and matte marble surfaces. It can be applied for up to around 6 months and is easier to peel off.
Note: The use of high-tack adhesive tapes must be strictly avoided as this will lead to catastrophic consequences.
2. Thickness
Thickness is customizable. A greater thickness offers enhanced wear resistance, making it ideal for long-distance transportation, complex construction site environments or scenarios requiring stronger impact resistance.
3. Color
Transparent: The most frequently used option, facilitating surface inspection.
Blue/Green, etc.: Sometimes adopted to distinguish different protected surfaces or product batches, featuring higher visual distinctiveness.
