Construction/Decoration Protective Film (Temporary)
Material: Usually thick PE (polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene) plastic film, sometimes with pressure-sensitive adhesive or electrostatic adsorption.
Features:
Temporary protection: Used mainly after stone installation and during decoration (e.g., painting, carpentry, masonry) to prevent damage from cement, paint, dust, tool scratches, or heavy impacts.
Easy removal: Should be peeled off after the project, designed to leave no residue (high-quality products) and no damage to the stone surface.
Weather resistance: Requires certain UV resistance (if exposed to sunlight) to prevent aging, cracking, or sticking to the stone.
Wear resistance: The surface has moderate hardness to resist minor scratches.
Common form: Rolled sheets, ranging from tens of centimeters to 1-2 meters in width.
Key points: Choosing a special stone protective film with no residue, UV resistance, and wear resistance is crucial. Inferior films may cause adhesive residue to be difficult to remove, or the film itself may embrittle and crack, contaminating the stone.
Furniture/Countertop Protective Film (Semi-permanent/Replaceable)
Material: Usually transparent PET (polyester film) or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) with pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Features:
High transparency: Maintains the marble's aesthetic and texture to the greatest extent.
High wear and scratch resistance: Protects against daily scratches from keys, tableware, pots, etc.
Stain-resistant and easy to clean: The smooth and dense surface prevents liquids (water, oil, juice, wine) from penetrating and causing stains or corrosion, facilitating easy cleaning.
Chemical corrosion resistance: Withstands common household chemicals (cleaners, cosmetics, etc.).
Removable/replaceable: Though firmly attached, it can usually be torn off without or minimal damage (especially TPU), with a service life of several years.
Common applications: Kitchen countertops, dining tables, coffee tables, windowsills, and other frequently used areas.
Key points: Requires professional measurement and cutting (or customization), with high demands on the construction environment (dust-free) and technique (no bubbles or dust). Choose products with excellent high transparency, yellowing resistance, scratch resistance, and oil/water repellency. TPU is generally softer, more flexible, and more resistant to yellowing than PET.
"Invisible Car Wrap" Type Stone Protective Film (High-performance Semi-permanent)
Material: Top-tier products typically use aliphatic TPU with high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesive and nano-coating.
Features:
